Southern China and Assam, India are the only two regions in the world with native tea plants. Assam is home to the tea varietal camellia sinensis assamica. Assamica's large leaf and the unique geography of the region are responsible for the tea's robust flavor.
Most breakfast tea blends rely on some Assam tea leaves to give the bold malty flavor that's necessary for an energizing boost.
We've selected our Assam tea for its uniform whole leaves with plenty of golden tips. The tea infuses to a gorgeous copper color with the characteristic malty flavor that's slightly sweet. We think you'll enjoy the pure taste of Assam black tea on its own or with milk and sugar.

Brewing Instructions:
Infuse 1 - 2 teaspoons per person in near boiling water for 2 - 4 minutes. Gradually increase water temperature and steeping time for additional infusions.
